Filter by hidden column

In some instances I would like to be able to save a view that has a particular column(s) filtered, without that column necessarily being visible. E.g. creating an 'Inventory editing' view for each product category. At the moment, if I filter by a column and then hide the column, the filter is lost. This could work something like in Airtable, where a 'View' allows for both a saved set of columns and a saved set of filters.

Hi Tom, let's say I want to create a nice quick view for editing prices of the clothing I sell. I only want to see products in my 'Clothing' category, so we need to filter by category. However I'm not actually there to edit the category, I'm just editing prices, so I don't need the 'Category' column to be visible.
Another example, let's say we have hundreds of items in our catalogue, but not all of them are 'live' - e.g. they are in draft on Woocommerce, or marked as 'not visible' in the catalogue. Let's say I want to create a view for quick inventory adjustments, I might want to filter for only products which are actually live on the store (so would need to filter both by 'post status' and 'catalogue visibility'), but again this column doesn't need to be visible since I'm only editing inventory numbers.
If the desired 'view' requires filtering on multiple columns, because these all have to be visible you can end up with quite a messy/cluttered table, when really you only want to see a couple of key things (e.g. stock, price).

Hi Will, I've read this numerous times and I'm still a little confused by the request! Why would you need to hide the column? If there is a filter applied to the column, surely you'd want it visible?
